Red Scania NG interior: a customer fits the 24-piece dashboard trim kit

Transports Nickel run a black and red Scania S. To carry the colours inside, they fitted our 24-piece 3D dashboard trim kit SCANG16FULL in red – themselves, without removing the dashboard – and sent us this short video of the result.

Why a colour finish works in a truck

In a tractor unit with a strong livery, a colour matched to the exterior is the easiest way to make the cab feel like part of the same truck. Red is a good example: it lifts the dark Scania dashboard without looking busy. The same kit is also available in wood looks, carbon look, brushed aluminium look and other colours.

Fitting tips

• Clean and degrease every surface; silicone-based cab sprays stop the adhesive from bonding.
• In winter, warm the cab first – adhesive bonds poorly on cold plastic.
• Dry-fit each part, then stick it down from one edge and press firmly.
• Kits ship glossy. For a matt look, spray clear matt lacquer on the parts before fitting.
